Our Story
The platform was founded by creative partners Bukeka Blakemore and Eugene “Jimmi Brooklyn” Blakemore, two individuals whose careers have been dedicated to amplifying voices, building community, and creating space for artists to be seen and heard.
Eugene Blakemore
A music entrepreneur and cultural advocate, Eugene Blakemore founded SillyMoneyRecords in 2009 and developed platforms like Black Male Positive (BMP) and A Positive Image, initiatives designed to promote positive messaging through music and live performances.
As an artist and public figure, Eugene frequently appeared on the Chicago radio station WGCI, where he championed artists and conversations that uplifted the community.
His passion for creating opportunity for emerging artists led to the co-founding of FAV Unite in 2016, a platform designed to bring together Fans, Artists, and Venues to build stronger creative ecosystems. He also co-founded FAVuniteTV, pioneering a streaming space where independent and grassroots creators can showcase their talent and reach audiences around the world.
Bukeka Blakemore
Artist, vocalist, and cultural storyteller Bukeka Blakemore has spent her career bridging art, leadership, and community. Bukeka’s performance career spans opera, jazz, and modern soul, and she has opened for legendary cultural icons including Harry Belafonte, Maya Angelou, and Della Reese. Beyond the stage, Bukeka is a songwriter and professional speaker whose work emphasizes equitable leadership, creativity, and the power of storytelling to transform communities. She has served as Deputy Executive Director of Creative City Kansas City, part of the global UNESCO Creative Cities Network, supporting the city’s designation as the first UNESCO Creative City of Music in the United States.
